Parker named “Outstanding Citizen”
The Spokane Association of Realtors presented Rep. Kevin Parker, R-Spokane, with their 2013 “Outstanding Citizen Award” at their annual awards luncheon yesterday.
The award recognizes individuals in the Spokane area for their contribution of service to the community. Parker is the first state elected official to receive the distinction.
“I'm humbled this outstanding group picked me for this award. I've always admired what the Spokane Association of Realtors do for our community, and to be honored by them is something I never expected,” Parker said.
Nominations for the award come from association members, after which a selection committee makes the final decision of the year's recipient.
