Dear Friends and Neighbors,

In my video update this week, I talk about ways to get Washington working again. Spokane County is experiencing an unemployment rate that is higher than the state and national averages, and we must move forward with measures to help employers so they can begin hiring again. I’m supporting solutions to reform our workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance systems, streamline permitting processes, and put a moratorium on new rules and regulations. I would like to invite you to two town hall meetings I will be holding this Saturday. Both events will be at Northwood Middle School, located at 13120 N. Pittsburg Street in Spokane. The first one will be with my seatmates, Rep. John Ahern and Sen. Michael Baumgartner, in the school gymnasium from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The second one will be education-specific and held in the school library from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. I hope you can attend one or both events.

In closing, I want to thank all of you who participated in my telephone town hall meeting on Tuesday evening. We had 7,034 attendees and a great conversation on issues affecting our community and state. I appreciate your input and the opportunity to share my views.

Have a great weekend.

Sincerely,

Kevin Parker
