About State Rep. Kevin Parker

Rep. Kevin Parker is serving his fourth term representing the 6th Legislative District, which includes part of Spokane, Cheney, Medical Lake and Airway Heights.

Kevin is an entrepreneur who manages 80 employees at his six coffee shops and teaches in the Whitworth University and Gonzaga University MBA programs.

He studied political science at Whitworth University and earned an MBA from George Fox University. He studied leadership, served as Alumnus in Residence, and as a facilitator in the Executive Leadership Program at Harvard University. Kevin was selected as a Rodel Fellow by the Aspen Institute and as 2014 Washington State Citizen of the Year.

Parker was chosen by his peers to serve as Assistant Ranking Member on the House Appropriations Committee where he has been intricately involved in budget negotiations.  His experiences in the private sector and in the higher education classroom as an instructor helped lead to one of the most successful and widely accepted state budgets (2015-17 biennial budget) in recent legislative history.

Kevin is also known for championing “conservative compassion,” having introduced and passed several bills to make it easier for the homeless to find sustainable jobs.

He lives in Spokane with his wife, Kerry, and their three children.
